What to do if shoes are painted from the inside: tips and tricks
You bought new shoes, and it would seem that happiness should know no bounds, but as soon as you took them off, you saw that your socks or tights were stained. A natural question arises: what to do if your shoes stain your feet? This situation is by no means uncommon. Some people go to the store to replace the product (albeit hardly successfully), but there are better options - try to fix the situation on your own and make sure that the next time you wear the same pair, the incident with dyeing socks does not happen again.
Causes of unwanted coloring
Of course, the reason that shoes or boots stain the inside of socks may be a low-quality product. Especially when it comes to inexpensive products. But it happens that the quality of the product is beyond doubt, then the problem lies in the owner of these shoes, or more precisely, in the sweating of his feet. This is the most common reason why pigment transfers to skin and clothing.
The inside of shoes can stain due to moisture that got inside during rain, for example. In autumn or winter this happens much more often, resulting in stained legs or tights with socks.
And the third reason is improper care of shoe products. Creams, paints and gels greatly affect the material, which is why they can give such an unpleasant effect.
In the situations described above, none other than the “victim” himself is to blame. But if you notice that the inside of the shoes has stained the entire foot, then we are really talking about extremely low-quality shoes.
Ways to deal with the problem
There are a variety of ways to cope with such a nuisance. The fastest are store-bought products that take care of shoes without allowing the dye to be released. In this case, paint fixers are excellent helpers; it is better to choose those that have proven themselves to be the best, for example Salamander and Saphir.
You can use paint remover. True, the effect will be short-lived. After all, all you will do is wash off the paint that has appeared, but will not in any way protect your shoes and feet from re-staining.
Traditional methods
But there are also other, so-called folk or grandmother’s remedies that have been used from time immemorial. Even though these tips are as old as time, they remain popular due to their incredible effectiveness.
- Use vinegar
Regular table vinegar is an excellent helper in solving the problem of staining shoes from the inside. And that’s all, because acid is a good fixative. In order to use vinegar, you need to moisten a rag with it and wipe the inside of the product, then leave it to dry. Airing your shoes in the fresh air will help get rid of the vinegar smell.
- Alcohol helps
Regular rubbing alcohol will also help with this treatment of shoes. To do this, we also moisten a rag with alcohol and wipe the inside of the shoes. True, one point needs to be taken into account: alcohol does not fix the paint; on the contrary, it serves as a means that washes it off
- Regular hairspray is a good helper
Hairspray, which is sold in any store, will help fix the color of the shoe lining. We also use it to treat shoes and remember that the varnish can be washed off, which means this method is not suitable for the autumn-winter period.
- Use talc
Talc will help cope with this problem. You can also use starch instead of talc. The powder is rubbed into the shoes, then whatever remains is carefully removed.
- Burr oil
They also process the internal cavity of the product. Then you need to wait until the oil is completely absorbed.
It is important to remember that any treatment of shoes is carried out only in a completely dry state, otherwise the effect of your efforts will be small.

Shoes are not made for the dead. Therefore, if it is of high quality, then it should not paint anything, incl. and due to sweaty feet. They all sweat one way or another. Therefore, when my shoes are of high quality, then nothing will be painted. And, having recently bought a pair of boots, I returned them to the store and received my money back. Although the next pair of shoes also paints, although much less
I bought expensive shoes. Slippers, espadrilles (fashionable), for 1400.00, I can’t wear them, they stain my heels. And everything is great! So it's not about cheapness...
If you think that shoes for 1400 are expensive, then I hasten to upset you, this is far from true.
I bought the shoes, wore them once for a few minutes and noticed that the heels were painted black. They won’t take them back to the store and don’t think it’s a defect. Please advise what to do
It was worth trying to say that they did not suit you... if the item was not worn, then it must be returned within 15 days
Do not use vinegar under any circumstances!!! That's bullshit! It will never erode from leather shoes(((((it may not smell when dry, but your feet will smell like vinegar after wearing the shoes((((
Do you consider slippers for 1,400 expensive?) I bought ankle boots for 9,000, and they are painted ((((
I bought boots from Mascot for RUB 5,000. They paint.((((this is a loss of losses (((
Sneakers at ITAITA at a discount for 14,000 - painted. Feet don't sweat. Poorly colored skin. Be wary of buying shoes from this store if they have black leather lining inside.
I bought suede shoes, after wearing them, the heels were painted black. I found a solution, and I only wear these shoes with black socks! I hope the paint will rub off over time!
I bought some boots and have the heel painted. The paint on the leg washes off well, but is very unpleasant. For example, you go to a doctor (gynecologist), take off your tights, and there are black heels, well, not ice at all. It's a shame. It seems that they are not exactly cheap (6000), at least the boots are not from arzan or Chinese, but from a good one (by the standards of our city, the store is respectable)
The hairspray method helped me. The shoes no longer stain the heels. True, I spray polish every 3-4 wears.
