  • Entirely without leaves. It will taste no different from cobs cooked in a pan on the stove. Preparation for cooking is carried out as usual.
  • Entirely in leaves. These cobs taste like steamed ones. Before placing them in a bag, remove the top layer of leaves - firstly, all the dust and dirt has accumulated on them, and secondly, they are too hard and dry, so they will absorb moisture instead of giving it away.
  • In pieces. This method is used for cooking very long cobs, which are difficult to fit both in a bag and in a microwave oven. If you come across exactly these, before cooking, peel them from the leaves and cut them into pieces 5–6 cm thick.

Regardless of which cooking option you choose, be sure to cut off the thick, hard “butt” (the place where the cob is attached to the stalk) from the corn.

Having prepared the cobs accordingly, proceed to cooking:

  1. Place the corn in a bag and add a few tablespoons of water.
  2. Tie the bag tightly.Use the tip of a knife or a toothpick to make several holes in the top to allow steam to escape. Otherwise, the bag will swell until it bursts.
  3. Place the bag in any deep microwave-safe dish.
  4. Place the plate along with the bag in the microwave oven and set the timer on the timer - five minutes, then set the power to 1000 watts. If your oven's maximum wattage is less, adjust cooking times accordingly.
  5. After the beep, remove the corn from the microwave, make sure it is cooked, brush with butter to taste, sprinkle with salt and serve. If the cobs are not yet cooked, return them to the oven and finish cooking for one to two minutes.
