How to make fabric softener for your washing machine with your own hands?
Today, the use of various water softeners and rinse aids in washing has become commonplace. But few people know that you can make fabric softener with your own hands, which is much more profitable than constantly buying such products. And in terms of the quality of the result, our own mixtures are in no way inferior to industrial ones.
What will you need?
If you read the composition of air conditioners that are presented in stores, the list will be impressive. And not all ingredients are good for health, especially for a child’s body. Of course, there are good mouthwashes on sale - natural-based, hypoallergenic. But their price will be high.
The good thing about a homemade mouthwash is that all the ingredients in it are always at hand, are inexpensive and do not harm your health. Of course, allergic reactions to these ingredients cannot be ruled out, but they happen much less frequently than in the case of industrial air conditioners. And such a composition is prepared in just a few minutes. But how long it will last depends only on you. You can immediately prepare a spare rinse aid; it stores well.
In order to make an air conditioner at home, you will need the following components:
- vinegar;
- baking soda (can be replaced with baking soda);
- Epsom salt - sold at the pharmacy, regular salt will not work here;
- warm water;
- essential oil (lavender, orange, lemon or any other with a pleasant smell);
- hair conditioner (not conditioner or conditioner);
- container in which the conditioner will be stored (you can even take a bottle from a purchased product).
As you can see, no complex or rare ingredients are required. You probably have all this at home. If not, then a visit to the pharmacy or store will help fill in what is missing.
Manufacturing process
If you decide to make fabric softener at home, you can do this either in advance or immediately before use - it is prepared quickly.
- If you really don’t have time or just don’t want to bother with making conditioner, you can use regular table vinegar to soften your laundry. Just pour it into your laundry before you start rinsing. For aroma, you can add five drops of essential oil. In addition to softening water, vinegar also has antibacterial properties and washes away any washing powder that may have remained there from the laundry.
- The second version of the rinse requires a little more ingredients and a couple of minutes more time. But the effect of its use is much higher. To begin, pour one liter of warm water and 140 ml of 9% vinegar into the prepared container, stir. Now you need to pour soda into this mixture (about half a glass). Add a little at a time as the baking soda and vinegar react and the rinse aid starts to fizz and foam a lot. Once all three ingredients have been mixed, all that remains is to add a few drops of any essential oil, mix thoroughly - and you can use it.Just like a more familiar product, add about half a glass of homemade product to the appropriate compartment of the washing machine. Or two lids if you used a container from a previous rinse aid.
- The latter option is considered the best among those rinses that can be made at home, and has already collected many rave reviews from housewives. To make it you will need water, vinegar and hair conditioner in a ratio of 6:3:2. Again, you can add a little essential oil to add a pleasant aroma to your washed laundry. Mix all these ingredients and use the product as usual when washing. After using this rinse aid, the laundry becomes very soft, irons perfectly and does not electrify. If you also take the most inexpensive hair conditioner as an ingredient (it will cope with the task), then the final result will cost you a fairly small amount.
- If you managed to purchase Epsom salt (it contains magnesium and magnesium sulfate), then you can use it to make an excellent fabric softener. It will not only make things softer, but also restore colors. All you need to do is take a glass of salt and add about 10 drops of essential oil to it. Immediately pour it all into a jar with an airtight lid, close it, and shake well. When washing, add a couple of spoons to the conditioner compartment.
- Based on the previous recipe, you can prepare another mouthwash. Take half a glass of the mixture and stir with a glass of warm water until the salt is completely dissolved. Pour a glass of soda into a separate spacious container and begin to slowly add table vinegar - 6 glasses.Once everything is mixed and the reaction has stopped, pour in the water-salt solution and mix well. When washing, add about half a glass of product to the washing machine.
Now all you have to do is choose a mouthwash based on the ingredients you have at home, and you can start making it. Once you try to make such a product once, you are unlikely to return to industrial options. Homemade formulations are cheaper, safer, and soften laundry no worse than those bought in a store.
