Is it possible to wash nylon tights in a washing machine, or is hand washing better?

It’s hard to imagine a classic women’s wardrobe without elegant thin tights. This thing makes legs slimmer and more attractive, but also causes housewives a lot of grief. Just remember the “expiration date” of the product and the difficulties with washing. Don’t be afraid and wash nylon tights in the washing machine! Just to get started, learn a few rules and tricks so as not to run into trouble in the form of a puff or arrow.

Is it possible to wash nylon in a washing machine?

Nylon tights have a very thin and delicate structure, so it’s not for nothing that they tear at any opportunity. Washing such fabrics, especially openwork ones, raises many questions. What is the best way to wash nylon tights: in a machine or by hand? The second option is more logical, since a product made from the finest threads is not durable.

Machine washable tights

But washing tights in a machine is quite possible. Modern models are equipped with dozens of functions from delicate spinning to drying. The right equipment will keep your laundry safe.

Another detail of caring for tights: they need to be washed often, if possible daily. This way, dirt won’t be absorbed deeply into the fibers, and it’s always more pleasant to wear clean clothes. Tights that are rarely washed tear faster, accumulate unpleasant odors and harmful microorganisms, and can even cause skin irritation.

How to wash: rules

Don’t forget to check the instructions on the packaging: there the manufacturer indicates all the necessary information on proper care.

Wash nylon items at a temperature no higher than 30-40 degrees, regardless of whether hand wash or machine wash.

How to properly machine wash:

  1. Place the laundry in the drum in a special protective net (if there is none, use a small pillowcase tied in a knot). This way the tights won’t stretch, get tangled, or get caught in the buttons of other clothes.
  2. Wash on a delicate cycle with a gentle spin, or better without it, for example, “Shirts”, “Wool”, “Sports Shoes” or “Silk”, “Hand Wash”.
  3. Before washing, it is better to soak deep stains on your heels and toes in soapy water or rub well with a bar of laundry soap.
  4. Use gentle laundry detergents; bleach is prohibited.
  5. If you are sending relatively clean tights and bras together, place them in different mesh bags, otherwise tightening is guaranteed.

Hand washing also has several rules:

  1. Remove all jewelry from your hands.
  2. Use liquid washing gels or mix powder and soap shavings well. Gels are better washed out of the fibers when rinsed and do not leave white streaks.
  3. Soak particularly dirty items for half an hour to an hour.
  4. Do not rub, but lightly squeeze the dirty areas.
  5. Rinse thoroughly under running cool water.
  6. Do not twist, at most, blot with a towel. Nylon does not retain water, and when drying it will quickly drain on its own.

Advice from purity-en.htgetrid.com magazine
If you find a small loop or puff on the nylon, try straightening the knitted fabric by slightly pulling in different directions and smoothing it along the entire circumference and length. To avoid deteriorating the appearance of your tights, wash them only by hand.

Also, do not forget to sort tights and stockings by color: flesh ones separately from black, colored and white. Dry nylon items away from light and heat sources, preferably on a terry towel. Do not dry with a hairdryer or on a coil!

Children's nylon tights

How do you wash children's white tights, knee socks and nylon socks? These products are becoming more and more gray and unattractive each time. Most often, there are three reasons for this:

  • inappropriate remedy;
  • washing with colored or dark items;
  • water temperature is too high.

To maintain or restore the original whiteness, you need a brightening agent. Many mothers are not satisfied with chemical bleaches: children's delicate skin is sensitive. In addition, chlorine and alkaline components damage thin nylon threads.

How to properly wash children's nylon tights:

  1. Do this as often as possible.
  2. Follow the same basic rules as with adult laundry: delicate cycle, warm water, mesh bag, sorted by color, minimal spin and drying on a towel or rack.
  3. Use simple laundry soap. This is a good stain remover.
  4. Buy stain removers for children's clothes, such as Nanny Ears, but use them in a strict dosage. Do not pour the product directly onto tights; always dissolve it in a basin first.
  5. Buy oxygen bleaches in pencil form (sold at Lenta): just rub your dirty heels and knees, and the stains will lighten before your eyes.
  6. Thoroughly rinse off any remaining detergent after washing.

Take your time and don’t panic: everything can be washed! Nylon socks and tights require a careful approach, but everything is not so difficult if you get used to it.
