Why is my dishwasher bad at drying dishes?
A tidy housewife is annoyed by even the slightest mess in the kitchen, and if the dishwasher doesn’t dry the dishes, she can get really hysterical. Undried drops turn into stains and stains; instead of sparkling clean service, you have to put dull plates with whitish stains on the table. In order not to blush in front of your guests, you need to take a towel and rub each device. Do not engage in hard labor, it is better to try to understand the causes of the malfunction and eliminate it.
Errors when purchasing
You installed a new inexpensive car at home, started it for the first time - and all the joy from the purchase was gone. The dishes are clean, but they are not dry enough. If real rain does not fall from the plates, but only small drops remain, do not rush to file a claim with the store or demand warranty repairs. Look at the product passport - what kind of drying is indicated there? There are 2 options:
- turbo drying;
- condensation type.
If you see the second option, you yourself chose the wrong dishwasher. Most products have this design; they are simpler and cheaper to manufacture, so they are sold at a low price. When exposed to heat, the water evaporates from the dishes, but moist air remains inside the machine. When the device begins to cool, liquid condenses on both its walls and plates.
Each housewife struggles with this problem in her own way. Some watch when the drying is finished and immediately open the door so that the steam does not remain inside.There are recommendations to remove the dishes as soon as possible, just try not to burn your hands. If, after opening the hatch, you see completely wet or poorly washed dishes, ask for a replacement machine, it is defective.
Advice
To avoid getting into a similar situation, before purchasing any household appliances, read the descriptions and reviews of different brands.
If your car doesn't dry well
Everything was fine, but suddenly the machine began to dry dishes poorly. If your dishwasher is equipped with a turbo dryer and cleans dirt well, most likely the fan is not working. If the dishes are dirty and wet, it can be assumed that the reason is poor heating. There are several main reasons for this malfunction:
- the control relay does not work;
- heating element does not heat;
- The temperature sensor is broken.
All these malfunctions are quite serious. If you have no idea about the structure of mechanisms and only know how to press buttons, it is better to immediately invite a specialist. In the best case, you can tell by the sound that the fan is not working, but even finding it inside the car will be a problem. When an amateur disassembles a complex piece of equipment, the result is usually a mountain of parts. The mechanic, seeing signs of your incompetence, will immediately increase the price of the repair.
Advice
Under no circumstances should you try to repair a machine that is not out of warranty. Perhaps the breakdown is so serious that the entire device needs to be replaced. If you try to do something yourself, the warranty will no longer apply.
If the heating element fails, it must be replaced with a new one. When a relay needs to be replaced, an inexperienced housewife can find it inside the door, but replacement requires skill in working with a soldering iron. If the fan breaks down, you need to disassemble almost the entire device.Only a person familiar with repairing household electrical equipment will be able to find and diagnose these parts.
The only thing that an amateur who is unfamiliar with technology can do is change the temperature sensor if you are sure that this is the reason. To replace, place the machine on its side, unscrew the pan and remove the device from the water discharge chamber. Remove the wires from it and install a new sensor. Now turn on the machine and hope it starts working.
Household appliances sometimes break down. When the dishwasher stops drying dishes and you can’t figure out what’s wrong, don’t panic. Contact a specialist and find out the cost of repairs. If you think the price is too high, contact another specialist. In a couple of days everything will be fine and the plates will be dry and clean again.
It all depends on drying. Our Hotpoint dishwasher has condensation drying, yes, it takes a long time, but that’s not to say that it’s bad
it all depends on the type of drying, but I would not say that our PMM Hotpoint condensation type of drying is as bad as it is described. Personally, I’m happy with everything, I take out the dishes without any streaks.
