- Lightly tap the case to release any remaining dust.
Latest models of vacuum cleaners Dyson have a rubber “skirt”, thanks to which all dust is removed without leaving a trace.
How to wash the inside of a Dyson vacuum cleaner?
Dyson vacuum cleaners are very easy to disassemble into parts. Please note that not all parts can be washed with water.
The following are subject to wet processing:
- dust container;
- filters;
- nozzle brushes.
It is important that the washed parts dry well. Do not allow even a drop of moisture to get inside the device. Plan general cleaning in advance, so as not to use a vacuum cleaner for 24 hours after it.
Step-by-step instruction
First, the Dyson needs to be disassembled. Disassembling each model has its own subtleties, but the principle is approximately the same.To find out the details, you need to look at the printed instructions that came with the device.
We will tell you how to wash a vacuum cleaner using the Dyson V8 Absolute model as an example:
- Pull the large flask towards you. Click on the exposed red levers on the handle. Take out the cone.
- Remove the waste container by pressing the red lever underneath it.
- Fill a bowl with warm water and add a little liquid soap or dishwashing detergent (1 tablespoon per 3 liters of water).
- Prepare a soft, lint-free cloth and wet wipes.
- Wash the dust container, being careful not to get the terminals (metal plates) wet. It is more convenient to wipe hard-to-reach places with wet wipes.
- Pull out the blue filter on the flask by the protruding part. It is washed under the tap. Hold the filter under warm water and then invert it. A grey-yellow liquid will come out. You need to wash the filter until clear water flows out of it.
- Unscrew the second filter on the handle. Rinse it under water in the same way as the first one.
- The flask and handle can be wiped with a barely damp cloth or napkin.
- Now it’s time for the attachments. Unscrew the screw on the bottom with a screwdriver and pull out the round brush. Wash it in a basin. If you notice hair wrapped around the rollers, cut it off with scissors. Use a fine brush to remove dust from all holes. You can wipe the main part of the nozzle with a damp cloth (not wet).
- Dry all parts in a ventilated place.
- After 24 hours, reassemble the vacuum cleaner: insert the filters, insert the dust container and flask into the grooves (until they click).
Caring for your Dyson vacuum cleaner is easy. Even a beginner can handle cleaning it. To disassemble, you just need to press the levers and disconnect the parts. Only removable filters are washed under running water. The remaining parts are wiped with a slightly damp cloth or napkin. The whole procedure takes no more than half an hour of free time. And it will take another day for all the parts of the vacuum cleaner to dry completely.
