The washing machine is noisy. How to solve a problem without a wizard
I have been repairing household appliances for seven years. And do you know what question people ask me most often? “Why does my car roar like a bomber taking off? Is she defective? Broken? Lost your mind and joined a pagan sect? Can I do something with it???
Today I will answer this question – exhaustively and completely.
So, let's go point by point.
New technology is noisy
If you installed the machine yourself, answer one single question. Have you removed the shipping bolts? Even experienced home craftsmen forget about this simple rule - and they feel very awkward when I catch them making such an obvious mistake.
But you checked - the transport bolts have been removed. And the washing machine rumbles like a Belarus tractor.
Maybe she's not level?
Perfectly aligned
Before starting, the machine must be perfectly leveled. Therefore, take a level and check the quality of installation - both in the horizontal and vertical planes. If necessary, tighten the legs and place strong, reliable supports.
The floor under the washer should be level and hard. Shaky boards will cause vibrations, and vibrations are a sure way to excess noise. And to breakdowns.
Therefore, no compromises, only one hundred percent quality!
And make sure that the washing machine is not standing close to other objects or walls. Leave a gap of at least a centimeter. Otherwise, during the spin cycle, the shaking machine will hit the nearest neighbor - and then you already know.
Overload
The machine is leveled, like in the House of Weights and Measures, but still roars like a beluga.
Why?
This means you have overloaded it. Weigh the laundry you load into the drum and compare it to the chart in the instructions. You'll probably find it's overkill.
Don't do this. Overloading a machine is like loading cast iron batteries onto a bicycle. You will break your bike and break the cast iron.
Underload
Underloading, by the way, is also dangerous. The machine cannot distribute too little weight, which means it cannot compensate for shocks and overloads when the drum rotates.
Load the washer strictly according to the instructions. It wasn't written by fools.
The weight of the laundry is normal. But the noise in the bathroom is like at a rock band concert.
Sorry. You bought defective equipment. Do not try to repair it - the machine is new, it is under warranty. Contact the seller immediately and let them solve the problem.
Old equipment is noisy
Your machine worked faithfully for three years. Or five. Or ten. And then it started making noise. At first, not much, but each time it gets louder and louder, and besides, she is shaking and trying to crawl out of her corner. Perhaps your washing machine is broken and you need to call a technician.
However, first try to do everything to make the washing machine quieter:
- The easiest and cheapest way is to place a thick rubber mat under the washer. It will muffle the vibration sounds.
- A slightly more expensive option is to buy special anti-vibration stands.
- If the machine vibrates a lot and moves out of place, place a couple of 5-liter bottles of water on it. Wait, laugh! The method is really simple as hell - but it works. It's not a matter of mass, but of fluid vibrations. It moves in antiphase, so it works as a counterweight. Neither bricks nor a piece of rails will give such an effect.
And the most technically difficult option is only for experienced craftsmen! Disassemble the body of the machine and glue the inside walls with sound insulation. Soundproofing sheets based on bitumen are best suited - they effectively remove low-frequency noise. If you have never worked with technology, do not use this method! Otherwise, glue the walls, put them back together, and you will find “extra” parts.
