How to properly clean and wash a jacket at home?
Today, jackets are usually worn not only for business meetings and important events, but also for everyday events. However, not everyone knows how to clean a jacket at home.
Cleaning clothes made from suit fabric
Typically, suit fabric is made from polyester or elastane. The advantages of a suit made from this fabric include:
- high wear resistance;
- elasticity;
- Possibility of dry and wet cleaning.
At the same time, washing such items in a washing machine is strictly prohibited. To clean your jacket, it is best to use one of the four methods described below.
- Method 1.
Prepare a soap solution. Rinse the suit thoroughly with a sponge. Next, you need to wipe the cleaned areas several times with a clean and dry cloth.
- Method 2.
Dilute vinegar with water in a 50/50 ratio and heat slightly. Use a sponge or swab to wipe away the stains. Vinegar can be replaced with warm water. Once you have cleaned your suit, iron it through cheesecloth. Please note that in this way you will not only perfectly remove dirt and shine from your things, but also restore it to its former brightness.
- Method 3.
You can remove dirt using fresh potatoes. Before you start washing things, wash the potatoes thoroughly and cut them into 2 halves. Wipe problem areas of the suit. To get rid of starch, go over the treated areas with a sponge and water.
- Method 4.
Take a liter of water and add a tablespoon of ammonia.Dip a swab into the resulting solution and wipe the jacket with light movements, removing shine and dirt. When you have completely cleaned the item, hang it on a hanger. After 20 minutes, when the suit is dry, iron it through gauze.
Advice
If you use a clothes brush for washing, be careful not to press too hard on the suit.
