Preparing an analogue of gold eye patches at home
You can make eye patches at home using basic products. Follow the instructions - and you will prepare a product that is not inferior in effectiveness to the store-bought one.
Homemade eye patches
Anyone who has ever used patches could notice that they consist of gel (or rather, hydrogel). It is thanks to him that the product works so well. The hydrogel holds the cold perfectly and adheres tightly and evenly to the skin. But its main advantage lies in its special consistency. The gel patch does not dry out for a long time, which allows the skin to absorb more active substances. For comparison, an emulsion applied with fingers evaporates in 20–40 seconds, which is why the healing components do not have time to penetrate into the deeper layers.
But is it possible to make hydrogel stickers at home? No, but you can successfully replace them with gelatin. A frozen gelatin mask has almost identical properties. All that remains is to select the active components. Or you don’t have to bother - just apply a regular emulsion to care for the area around the eyes onto the gelatin mugs.
Step-by-step manufacturing instructions
In order to make eye patches at home, you must first prepare the necessary ingredients and materials.
You will need:
- natural yogurt – 1 tbsp. spoon;
- brown sugar – 2 teaspoons;
- olive oil – 1 teaspoon;
- turmeric spice – 1/3 teaspoon;
- food gelatin – 1 tbsp. spoon;
- vitamin E – 5 drops;
- bowl and spoon;
- water bath;
- silicone molds for cupcakes – 3 pcs.
Step-by-step manufacturing instructions:
- Mix all ingredients except olive oil and vitamin E.
- Leave the mixture for 40 minutes. During this time, the gelatin will swell.
- Place the bowl in a water bath. Heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture becomes smooth and slightly liquid.
- Add olive oil and vitamin E, stir.
- Transfer the mixture into silicone molds, spreading into a thin layer. You can replace them with lids with a diameter of 6–7 cm, wrapped in cling film.
- Let the patches harden in the refrigerator for 15–20 minutes.
- Remove them from the molds and cut them in half. Ready!
Congratulations! You have prepared universal “golden” patches that can be used to care for the area around the eyes. They will help remove swelling, restore skin tone and healthy color. Apply them to the area under the eyes cleaned of makeup for 10 minutes.
If you apply homemade gold patches every other day for a month, superficial wrinkles will smooth out and your face will look several years younger.
Gelatin stickers should be of medium thickness - 2 mm. Otherwise, they will quickly melt or peel off.
Recipes
You can prepare homemade eye patches with a variety of compositions. The base is gelatin with any liquid. It is soaked for 40 minutes and then heated in a water bath. You can replace gelatin with agar - it swells faster, in about 15 minutes. The remaining components can be varied depending on what effect is needed.
Recipes:
For dark circles under the eyes | · 1 tbsp. spoon of sour cream, · 1 teaspoon finely chopped parsley, · 1 teaspoon of gelatin. |
For wrinkles and fatigue | · 1 teaspoon of liquid honey, · 1 yolk, · 1 hourspoon of gelatin. |
To smooth out wrinkles and eliminate swelling | · 1 tbsp. spoon of fresh peach puree, · 1 tbsp. spoon of fat milk, · 3 teaspoons of gelatin. |
To eliminate dryness | · 1 tbsp. a spoonful of banana pulp, · 1 teaspoon milk, · 1 teaspoon of gelatin. |
For a fresh look | · 1 tbsp. spoon of fresh potato juice, · 1 hour spoon of sour cream, · 0.5 teaspoons of linseed oil, · 1 tbsp. spoon of gelatin |
As the liquid part, you can use a decoction of chamomile, mint, or black tea. And if you apply chilled tea bags (wet) to your eyes, they will remove swelling.
Some girls apply the active ingredients (without gelatin) to halves of cotton pads. Of course, the effect in this case will not be as pronounced as from gelatin patches. But the condition of the skin under the eyes is definitely improving.
So, at home you can make eye patches no worse than store-bought ones. And in some cases even better. Natural ingredients nourish, moisturize and smooth the skin. They also extremely rarely cause irritation and allergies (but it’s still worth doing a wrist test). Homemade patches give exactly the same sensations. You feel pleasantly cool and fatigue disappears. You can make many cooling mugs at once - for future use, so to speak. The main thing is to store them in the refrigerator in a glass container under cling film. They will not deteriorate or lose their properties within 10–15 days.
I often make homemade masks and scrubs. Now I’m thinking about homemade patches. The recipes in the article don’t seem complicated, you should try them.
