The pre-New Year bustle can be so exhausting that not a trace remains of the festive mood. Therefore, you need to think in advance about how to get everything done before the New Year. Make a to-do list and complete them consistently and calmly. We have prepared 10 tips to help you.
Calm, just calm
“There’s so much to do, we need this, we need that. How will I manage to do all this?!” This is what at least a third of women think before the New Year. A senseless panic and anxiety begins. Many people admit that they feel extremely tired just from the thought of having so much work to do. Calm down and try to think rationally. The devil is not as scary as he is painted. 10 days is enough to prepare for the holiday.
Make a to-do list
Take a notepad in your hands and write down what you would like to do before the New Year. Write whatever comes to mind. Then you'll weed out the excess. The more thoughts on paper, the less confusion in your head. Fear of forgetting something is the main reason for panic during the holidays.
Perhaps a list of popular New Year's resolutions will help you:
- throw away the trash;
- remove unnecessary phone numbers;
- thank loved ones;
- send invitations to guests;
- reserve a table;
- book a trip;
- lose weight;
- sign up for a dance;
- buy a New Year's outfit;
- get a manicure;
- let go of grudges;
- go to the New Year's performance;
- buy a sweater with deer;
- buy gifts;
- do 10 good deeds;
- bake gingerbread cookies;
- learn a verse with your child;
- fulfill a promise;
- Clean the house;
- distribute debts;
- buy and decorate a Christmas tree;
- make a New Year's craft;
- buy everything for the New Year's table;
- change your hairstyle;
- find interesting food recipes.
The list can get very long. But in fact, some tasks can be completed in 5 minutes.
Do one thing right now. You will immediately feel more confident and calm.
Check your schedule
Between work and training, you may have virtually no free time. Write down what and when you can do from your list. For example, cleaning is best done on the weekend. You can buy groceries and gifts after work by visiting a large shopping center. If you feel like you can’t do everything, ask your family or friends for help.
From theory to practice
Things usually pile up not because they are difficult. You need to admit to yourself that some of them you simply don’t want to do.
The “first thing in the morning” method will help here. By postponing unpleasant tasks for later, we thereby ruin our whole day - first we are oppressed by thoughts about the need to do work, and then we are often tormented by guilt for not having decided to work.
Make it a rule - do the most difficult thing first, preferably in the morning.
Organizational aspects
The first thing you should think about before the New Year is organizing a holiday.Will you celebrate it at home, at a party or in a restaurant? The number of guests, menu, choice of outfit and much more will depend on this. Keep in mind that you need to reserve a table for December 31 in advance, as well as invite guests, make an appointment for a manicure, makeup and hairstyle.
Decide on the place of celebration, and then you can move on.
spring-cleaning
For cleaning, choose the most free day. It is not necessary to “generalize” at the last moment. It's too complicated. By December 30–31, you need to decompress to the maximum and get ready for the celebration. You can do a deep cleaning in early December and then just keep it clean.
Gift selection
Don’t rack your brains over what to give to your family and friends while sitting at home or at work. You may not find the thing you need or may take too long to find it. It's better to go to the store and get your bearings. Contact a consultant. He will probably come up with dozens of gift ideas.
New Year's menu
Think about whether you will cook for the New Year, and if so, what.
Typically, the holiday menu includes in equal parts:
- classic dishes;
- new recipes;
- dishes that the whole family loves.
You can prepare something a few days before the holiday: sauces, jellied meat, dumplings, cake, preparations for salads. Save the easiest non-perishable food items for last.
Ask your guests to take some food to go and order something from a nearby restaurant. This way you will save yourself from having to stand at the stove for several hours.
Purchase of products
Purchase groceries according to the menu you have compiled. Divide your shopping trip into 2 parts. First, shop thoroughly.And just before the New Year, visit the gastronomic department for products that quickly spoil.
Appearance of the hostess
If you don’t yet know what to wear to celebrate the New Year, you can read the advice of astrologers. Choosing an outfit is an important part of preparation. Go through your wardrobe or do some New Year's shopping. Don't forget to choose festive makeup and hairstyle.
Get together with your friends and call a makeup artist and hairdresser to your home. All together it will cost less. There will also be someone to chat with, and the procedure will quickly fly by with a heart-to-heart conversation.
As we said at the beginning, you can do everything before the New Year in 10 days. A rough plan is:
- December 21–22 – cleaning;
- December 23–24 – purchase of food, alcohol, candles, napkins and various useful little things;
- December 25 – Christmas tree decoration;
- December 26–28 – choosing gifts and attending performances;
- December 29 – cooking everything that does not spoil for a long time;
- December 30 – test purchase of bread, sour cream, milk.
For the New Year, all you have to do is put the finishing touches on it. Cut your salads, put on a beautiful dress and get ready to celebrate the holiday. Don't overwork yourself and don't beat yourself up if you don't get something done. Relaxation and a festive mood on the evening of December 31st are the highest priority!
