Compact storage of blankets and pillows: 2 easy ways
Bulky blankets and pillows cause a lot of trouble, especially if they are not used, but only get in the way and take up space in the closet. If throwing away or giving away is not an option, then just try to fold the blanket and pillows compactly. We reveal two simple ways to do this.
Method 1: vacuum bags
An excellent device for storing various things is a vacuum bag. It is made of transparent material and equipped with a hole with a valve through which excess air is squeezed out. The valve is round, which means you can use the vacuum cleaner without an attachment.
You will be surprised how much smaller blankets and pillows become when placed in a vacuum bag. This is the best way to store bedding compactly. Place the vacuum bags in a stack in the closet, and if necessary, remove the item you need. The transparent bag will allow you to quickly find it.
Method 2: Turn a blanket into a pillow
A large blanket, even when folded, can fall apart at the slightest movement. To keep your accessory compact, use the following life hack: turn it into a pillow! The method is suitable even for double down varieties. Once you learn it, storage will no longer be an inconvenience.
How to fold a blanket compactly and quickly:
- We bend the product on the short side by about a quarter (the fold faces down).
- Now we visually determine where the center line on our accessory lies.
- Fold half of the blanket from the long side towards the center (fold up).
- We throw the remaining half onto it.
- Now roll up the blanket from the unfolded end. Three turns is enough.
- All that remains is to turn out the resulting pocket from one edge and carefully tuck the other side of the blanket into it. Ready! It turned out not only compact, but also very beautiful.
The magazine purity-en.htgetrid.com came up with a use for a blanket folded in this way: when you need a guest or sofa pillow, simply place it in a suitable pillowcase.
By the way, a blanket folded in this way can be presented as a gift without special packaging.
And if there is absolutely no space in the closets, then it makes sense to leave blankets and pillows that are not used directly on the bed. They will become part of the design of the room (this technique was used in villages, and many remember lush, rich beds with a heap of blankets). Add a wide blanket and a few decorative pillows, and place it all a little casually to create a feeling of coziness, freedom and comfort.
Great!
A very interesting way. the blanket does not actually fall apart in the closet, but lies neatly. Thanks, I've never heard of this. Now I will fold all blankets and rugs this way.
Thanks a lot! Great!
She folded the blanket into a beautiful furniture pillowcase and placed it on the sofa. And the blanket doesn’t get in the way, and it’s more comfortable on the sofa with a pillow.
