Automatic air freshener - how to choose, set up, where to hang it?

Your home should always smell good, since a pleasant smell is one of the components of comfort. Many people prefer to purchase an automatic air freshener: this device periodically sprays a fragrant cloud that masks unpleasant odors.

How does it work?

An automatic fragrance is a special device into which a cylinder with a freshener is inserted. The device is equipped with a timer and a device that periodically sprays aromatic liquid.

Externally, the automatic sprayer looks like a nice box, but from a mechanical point of view, this device is a miniature gearbox and electric motor working in tandem.

There is a timer on the back of the case that can be set for a specific period of time. These settings will determine how often the sprayer will fire.

For each cycle, the same portion of liquid is sprayed. Therefore, the shorter the time period is set on the timer, the more intense the aroma in the room will be. But there are also models of automatic flavors in which you can regulate not only the frequency, but also the intensity of spraying.

Based on the type of fastening, there are floor and wall models. Household fragrances are purchased for the home - they are used in rooms up to 50 meters in area.

no need to control the spraying, just set the desired mode - and you can forget about the need to spray the air freshener;
you can adjust the spray intensity directly or by setting the optimal time interval;
a large selection of scents, you can choose a scent for almost every taste;
The device operates on one cylinder for about a month and a half.

Another advantage is the fact that purchasing a sprayer is a one-time expense; then you will only need to purchase replacement cylinders.

Disadvantages of the device:

the need to provide power - from the mains or from a battery;
Only cylinders of the same brand are suitable for the automatic device - it is useless to purchase spare parts from other manufacturers, they will not fit.

But the main disadvantage is that the aerosol consists of chemicals that are not very useful.They are safe for healthy people, but if you are prone to allergies or respiratory diseases, inhaling an aromatic composition can provoke an attack. However, this disadvantage is inherent in all air fresheners, not just automatic ones.

How to choose?

First of all, you should decide where the flavor will be installed. Most often they are placed in the bathroom, but the device can also be placed in living rooms. However, using an automatic sprayer in the bedroom is not recommended.

Household models are ideal for apartments. For a home with a large area, you may need a fragrance designed for areas such as a hotel lobby or business center.

You should think about which features are important and which you can do without. The more functionality, the more expensive the model costs. Therefore, it is unwise to overpay for functions that will not be in demand. For example, not everyone needs lighting. But the presence of day and night spray modes allows you to optimally use the aromatic composition.

It is worth studying the range of scents offered by the manufacturer of the selected model. Among them there should be those that are especially liked by household members.

Experts recommend choosing scents based on the purpose of the premises:

“Edible” smells are suitable for the kitchen - coffee, chocolate, cinnamon, strawberries, etc.;
for the living room - aromas that create an atmosphere of comfort, for example, “after the rain”;
in the bathroom you can use the most intense aromas - sea breeze, pine needles, etc.;
If there are smokers at home, an “anti-tobacco” product that neutralizes the smell of cigarette smoke would be an ideal choice.

An important point is the way you eat.It is worth going to the store with an understanding of whether it is possible to connect the device to the network. If not, then it is better to choose a battery-powered option.

How to use?

Automatic flavoring models must come with instructions. Therefore, there are no problems with installation and startup.

It is necessary to open the housing cover and install the cylinder as indicated in the diagram in the instructions. Then install batteries in a special compartment or connect to the mains. All that remains is to set the intensity and frequency of spraying. In a small bathroom, you can set the interval to 30–40 minutes. In a large room you will have to use a shorter interval - 15–20 minutes.

The choice of interval between sprays is influenced by 2 more factors:

the presence of smokers (if there is smoking in the house, you need to spray the air freshener more often);
operation of the hood (if the ventilation in the bathroom is poor, then too frequent spraying will provoke an excessively high concentration of aroma in the air).

An important point is the correct installation of the device. If this is a wall model, then it needs to be hung higher than human height. It is generally recommended to install the device at a height of 2 meters. This placement will prevent the air freshener from getting into your face and will protect the device from curious children.
