How can I clean plastic panels?

Plastic is a material that is wear-resistant and easy to maintain. If you regularly wash it using the simplest household cleaning products, then you won’t have to carry out thorough cleaning using aggressive components. Particular attention should be paid to plastic surfaces and panels located in the bathroom.

Considering the characteristics of the environment, they are often covered not only with traces of dust and dirt, but without proper care, mold colonies and layers of scale form on their surface. Eliminating these formations is no longer so easy. In particularly advanced cases, there is nothing left to do but replace the elements.

Rules for processing plastic panels in the bathroom

When choosing an option for influencing plastic panels, you need to remember the characteristics of the material. If you wash them with clean water, not only will there be no result, but the condition of the products will deteriorate even more. Considering the environmental conditions in the bathroom, although plastic does not change in terms of texture, it becomes more susceptible to external influences. For these reasons, the following rules must be adhered to during processing:

  • It is necessary to avoid any abrasives. Their use can lead to scratches, in which fungi will then begin to multiply and it will be almost impossible to wash them. Only the mildest industrial formulations in the form of gels and homemade mixtures of certain reagents will be used.
  • Hard brushes and metal sponges will also scratch plastic panels, ruining their appearance and shortening their service life. It is best to wash items with soft, lint-free cloths or fine-pore sponges.

  • You should not use several types of reagents at once. If one approach does not help, then the next one can be used only after the surfaces are completely dry.
  • After cleaning has been carried out, the panels must not only be thoroughly washed with clean water, but also most of the moisture must be removed. Otherwise, stains will remain on the material, and scale will return fairly soon.

Tip: When working with surfaces in such a damp room, it is recommended to use not just tap water, but its distilled analogue. If this option is not possible, the liquid must at least be filtered, infused or boiled.

  • Despite the fact that modern household chemicals are positioned as safe for this type of raw material, it is better to treat plastic surfaces in the bathroom using proven folk remedies that do not contain any questionable additives.

soap solution

You need to wash all elements made of plastic in the kitchen, bathroom and bathroom at least once a month. This will prevent the formation of persistent mud deposits and prevent the proliferation of pathogenic microflora.

Effective homemade products for removing dirt, mold, scale

There are several options for preparing an effective and safe mixture with which you can treat plastic panels. Some of them allow you to wash away dirt and scale without hassle, while others also allow you to disinfect the material and renew its appearance. You just need to strictly take into account the recommended proportions and wash the contaminated surface according to all the rules:

  1. For a teaspoon of baking soda, take the same amount of 3-9% vinegar and 5 drops of essential oil (lemon or orange). Mix all the listed ingredients and dilute them with a glass of lukewarm water. Once again, mix everything very thoroughly, moisten a sponge in the resulting solution and treat problem areas, then thoroughly rinse off the composition. This product can be used to wash even those plastic panels that are covered with a dense layer of dried dirt that nothing else can handle. After such treatment, an atmosphere of freshness will reign in the bathroom.
  2. Take half a glass of liquid Castile soap (this is a special composition, which is 90% olive oil), a teaspoon of lemon juice and a tablespoon (without a slide) of potato starch. Mix the ingredients and dilute in half a glass of clean water. Apply the product to contaminated surfaces and leave for about five minutes, after which you can wash the plastic. Be sure to wipe all treated surfaces with clean water after achieving the desired result. This product can be used to treat all surfaces and elements in the bathroom.
  3. For a heaping tablespoon of laundry soap grated on a coarse grater, take a teaspoon of citric acid and 5 ml of medical alcohol (it’s best to measure it with a syringe). We combine all the given components, dilute with half a glass of hot water and mix thoroughly until the components dissolve. To wash off stubborn stains, you can apply the product to plastic panels and wait 10 minutes, but this is usually not required; dirt and scale come off the surface without any problems.
  4. To clean shiny areas, you can take a teaspoon of potato starch and baking soda, dilute them in half a glass of warm water. The resulting product should be used to wash not only problem areas, but also all areas in the bathroom that are potentially prone to this type of contamination. Immediately after cleaning, wipe the plastic panels with clean water and wipe with a dry cloth.

detergents

If the dirt does not disappear, and small scratches and roughness clearly appear on the surface, you should think about updating the plastic parts in the bathroom, because... achieving perfect cleanliness against the background of mechanical damage is almost impossible.
