Top 10 cheap things from Ikea that look expensive

There is so much to be found in the huge stores of the Swedish brand, but, unfortunately, not all products can boast of a decent appearance. We have made a selection - the top 10 things from Ikea that look expensive. By purchasing them, you can save money without sacrificing the beauty and style of your interior.

Lerst floor lamp

Lerst floor lamp

This lamp is suitable for most modern interiors. All its visible parts are made of aluminum and varnished, while “competitors” have plastic bases and lampshades. Due to the fact that cheap materials were not used in the design, it seems that the floor lamp costs more than indicated on the price tag. In March 2020, you will have to pay only 1,399 rubles for it.

Kvistbru storage table

Kvistbru storage table

A convenient and stylish table that combines two functions at once: on its lid you can put things that family members are currently using, and everything unnecessary will fit inside the stand-basket. The lid is made of fiberboard, the base is made of metal mesh. The price of the product is 2299 rubles.

Please note: in the IKEA assortment the table is available in two colors - white and dark blue. The second option looks more stylish and advantageous.

Ingrun blanket from Ikea

Plaid Ingrun

A beautiful blanket made from a mixture of acrylic and cotton. Neutral colors (dark blue or gray) allow it to fit into any interior. The cost is 799 rubles, but thanks to the presence of thick fringe, a neat edge line and a textured melange fabric, it seems that this is a blanket from a higher price category.

Livswerk vase from Ikea

Vase Livsverk

The vase is made of stone ceramics and painted with colored glaze. Its price is only 399 rubles, but it looks like 1399. Unfortunately, this product is being withdrawn from the assortment, so if you liked it, hurry up and buy it before all the remaining stock is sold out.

Bladien towel IKEA

Bladien towel

These towels from the Swedish brand are definitely worth a look. Firstly, because they are made using the jacquard weaving technique, which means that over time the threads will not be pulled out of the base fabric. Secondly, similar products from other manufacturers cost 40–60% more.

The assortment includes two colors and three size ranges of towels:

  • bath (70x140 cm) for 699 rubles;
  • for hands (50×100 cm) for 399 rubles;
  • for the face (30×50 cm) for 199 rubles.

Ivrig glasses IKEA

Ivrig glasses

449 rubles for 4 glasses is not that cheap; you can find more budget options on store shelves. However, all of them will, to one degree or another, be reminiscent of the school canteen. In contrast, glasses from the Ivrig series look expensive and attractive - even ordinary water poured into them seems more tasty. And thanks to their unusual shape, they can also serve as red wine glasses.

If you plan to use these glasses to drink cabernet or merlot rather than lemonade, choose the gray option. Blue glass will give the wine a strange tint.

Diner's service

Diner's service

Dark matte plates always look expensive, so Diener sets deserve to take up residence in your home. In IKEA stores they are presented in several color variations - gray-blue, dark gray and beige. There is also a pink color, but it makes the dishes much cheaper.

The service is designed for 6 people. Consists of 18 items - dinner and dessert plates, as well as soup bowls. Its price is only 2499 rubles.

Painting by Bjorkst IKEA

Bjorkst's painting

Connoisseurs of fine art will immediately recognize what is depicted on the canvas. This is a fragment of Michelangelo's fresco "The Creation of Adam", and it looks not like a printed picture, but like a real canvas. The painting comes with an aluminum frame, but if desired, you can choose a wooden or plastic baguette. To contemplate this masterpiece at home, you will have to pay only 2999 rubles. For comparison, a similar drawing, but made by an artist to order, will cost at least 20,000 rubles.

Luxtesmin bedding set IKEA

Bed linen set Luktesmin

The set includes a duvet cover and two pillowcases. The material is 60% cotton and 40% lyocell, making the fabric soft, pleasant to the touch, hygroscopic and very beautiful. Due to the fact that the underwear is one-color, without any patterns, it seems that it costs more than the amount stated on the price tag - 2199 rubles. In addition, the pillowcases have fabric releases (the so-called “ears”), which is not very common in cheap products.

Box with lid Fjella from IKEA

Box with lid Fjäll

At first glance, this box seems to be made entirely of metal. But no, only the protective corners, edges and rivets are made of steel. The remaining elements are made of paper, with 80% of the raw materials taken from recycling. The box is suitable for storing household items - documents, clothes, toys. In March 2020, its price is 599 rubles.

Ikea is constantly updating its product range, so it is possible that in the near future new items will appear on the shelves of this store, the appearance and quality of which will delight you just as much as their low price.

  7. Oduvan4ik

The picture, taken out of context, gives me a double feeling. Maybe I have a spoiled imagination, but I wouldn’t hang one like that on my place. What if one of my guests has not seen the painting “The Creation of Adam”?

    • Mrs

This means that it will be necessary to explain to the guests what is depicted if they do not know this recognizable fragment. It is this fragment that is often used in interior design, published in magazines... And, on the contrary, some people do not know that this is a fragment and not a separate picture.

  8. Michael

We have made a selection..... Who are we? So I would have immediately written: “me and my drinking companion Petya.”

  9. We

And what a wonderful table and for only 2300. I’m crazy. How much should it cost then?

    • Connoisseur

Trash can with lid and only 2300 Haha. And whatever you don’t put there will look like the garbage hasn’t been removed. It’s especially convenient to rummage through this basket later so that you can pick it up from the floor.

  10. ver

    expensive and poor quality

  11. Someone

    Nonsense, not worth the money.

  14. Svetlana

Ikea is consumer goods worse than China! Just the brand - Europe - can't be bad - everything is stylish with them. But in fact - a floor lamp, for example, a metal stand and a bucket placed on Ilyich’s light bulb. The picture is a drawing by a sixth grader in an art lesson. Their marketing works well in Europe, and the quality and taste are at the level of cheap consumer goods. And why is everyone squealing so much about IKEA?!

  15. Fatima

The lamp is very convenient and practical.

  16. Tatiana

    I love Ikea! ?

  17. Tanya Petch

I bought from IKEA: sofa covers.pillows; ceramic and glass baking dishes; After a very big scandal with my husband (IKEA does not recognize it), I bought a rocking chair (leather), and now it is his favorite chair for watching TV.. really comfortable, light (moving it when cleaning is not a problem), fits well into a minimalist interior. I buy glasses and other things: I break them often, the design here is modern, but if you break it, it’s not a shame and there’s a reason to buy a new one. These glasses may not be for guests, but they are an excellent solution for every day. I also have Japanese sets. They sit there, collecting dust... But I use dishes from Ikea with pleasure: I’m tired of the design, I’ll buy a new one. A lot of useful things like: washcloths, a spoon rest (?), kitchen towels, rags, cork coasters for glasses... You can’t list everything.
