Picks made from melted plastic caps

Guitarists will appreciate this set of mediators. Small thin plates improve playing speed, increase volume and duration of sound. You can make picks for yourself or as a gift.

For this:

  1. We arm ourselves with foil, a rolling pin and colorful lids.
  2. Spread the foil and lay out the plastic (preferably cut into pieces).
  3. Cover with a second piece of foil.
  4. Place in an oven preheated to 200–240 degrees and wait until the lids melt (5–15 minutes).
  5. We take out the “casserole” and immediately roll it out with a rolling pin.
  6. We place a flat object on top, and then bend (for example, dumbbells).

Watercolor stains look original and stylish. But the main thing in mediators is still functionality. In order for them to cope with their task, it is important to settle on a thickness of 1–1.5 mm. If you make the plates too thin, they will bend.

A bowl

Surprisingly, you can make new dishes out of plastic bottle caps.

To make a plastic bowl with your own hands:

  1. Place the lids into an old cauldron or frying pan.
  2. Before melting plastic, open all doors and windows and use a wet mask for respiratory protection.
  3. Place the container with lids on low heat for 7 minutes.
  4. Stir the semi-melted mass with a wooden stick.
  5. Wait another 14 minutes and stir the plastic again.
  6. After 20 minutes, fill a metal bowl thickly greased with vegetable oil with the mixture.
  7. Grease the bottom of a second metal bowl with oil.
  8. Place it in a plate with plastic mass and press it with something hard.

To remove plastic from a pan, freeze it and then transfer it to a warm place. You can also remove the mass with a cloth while it is still hot, or boil it in a soda solution.

Dispenser

You can make a convenient dispenser for liquids from the cap. To do this you will need pliers (tongs), a lighter and a toothpick.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Hold the lid by the edge with pliers and heat the bottom with a lighter (1.5–2 minutes).
  2. Without hesitation, insert a toothpick in the center and press down. The soft plastic will stretch.
  3. Hold the toothpick for a few minutes until the plastic hardens completely.
