How to quickly and easily clean carbon deposits from stainless steel pans
To clean stainless steel cookware, we recommend baking soda, activated carbon, special detergents and other useful things. Ways to quickly save dishes that seem to be lost forever. Useful tips on how to extend the life of your favorite stainless steel pan.
Cleaning inside
A stainless steel pan, despite its “iron” name, has a rather vulnerable surface. Aggressive cleaning agents can cause stains to form on stainless steel, and metal scourers will make your dishes look unpresentable. It is better to soak such burnt dishes before washing them in the dishwasher. In this case, products containing ammonia or chlorine should be avoided.
- A solution of detergent or regular laundry soap will help you clean a stainless steel pan.. To do this, you just need to immerse the contaminated dishes in a container with a larger volume and boil it there for 10 minutes. After this, carbon stains are easily washed off. Just take a little soda or detergent and a regular soft sponge, sprinkle the area with carbon deposits and gently clean off the dirt in a circular motion.
- You can clean burnt stainless steel cookware with regular activated carbon.. White or black - it doesn't matter. How to do it? Several packs of activated carbon tablets are crushed to a powder.A regular culinary mortar and pestle works well for this. Then water is added to this powder. The resulting mixture should have a consistency similar to not very thick sour cream. After which the product is applied to the contaminated surfaces and left. Processing time should not exceed 20 minutes. Afterwards, the mixture is washed off, and the deposits are carefully cleaned off with detergent and warm water. Activated carbon is absolutely safe for the human body, so it can be used to clean both the outer surface of a stainless steel pan and the inside.
- You can also clean carbon deposits on stainless steel with baking soda, and the process is identical to the process using detergent or soap.. That is, water is poured into a large container and soda is poured at the rate of 2-3 tablespoons per liter of water. Contaminated dishes are completely immersed there. Water and soda are heated to boiling temperature and then boiled for 10 minutes, after which it becomes easy to clean the stainless steel.
Advice
If the dishes need to be cleaned only on the inside, it is better to simply pour detergent or soda into it and boil it there.
Cleaning the outside
The outside surface can be cleaned in another interesting way. To do this, you need to take equal parts of water and vinegar essence (70-80%). Then pour the resulting solution into a pan, the diameter of which is no less than the diameter of the dishes damaged by carbon deposits. Place the pan with the solution on the stove and heat to a boil. And place the burnt dishes above it. That is, treat the upper burnt surface with steam. Processing time is 10 minutes. After this, a mixture made from soda and salt is applied to a sponge or napkin moistened with vinegar solution. And then rub the burnt areas with this napkin. It is better to wear gloves when doing this. Salt, soda and vinegar can harm the skin.
If you are going to clean a stainless steel pan with ready-made purchased products, you must first read the instructions for using these products and follow them carefully. Otherwise, beautiful stainless steel cookware may lose its attractive appearance.
Advice
When you decide to clean stainless steel, the movements of the sponge or napkin in any method should be smooth and circular. Otherwise, stains may remain on the surface.
Little tricks
- You can give the surface an exhibition shine by rubbing it with slices of freshly peeled raw potatoes. You can get just as much shine if you clean stainless steel with vinegar.
- You can destroy water stains by soaking the dishes in vinegar for about 15 minutes. Only after that, do not forget to wash them well.
- Stubborn stains can be effectively cleaned with a mixture of non-abrasive toothpaste and ammonia. To do this, the components are mixed to obtain a solution, which is moistened with a cleaning cloth, and then rubbed directly onto the surface of the pot or pan. Then everything is washed off with cold water.
It is worth noting that the stainless steel alloy contains chromium. In air, during the process of oxidation with oxygen, an invisible protective film appears on the dishes, which protects the surface from damage. However, if this surface is not cleaned, a protective film may not form. Then the dishes are easily damaged.
Stainless steel cookware is environmentally friendly, quite durable and will be a good purchase for its owners for a long time if you care for it correctly.
I cleaned it with soda, there were micro scratches left, I cleaned the carbon deposits a second time with a titanium ultrasonic washer, it did a good job, but I had to rinse it with my hands later (perhaps a 5-minute cycle was not enough)
Angelina also tried to wash the titanium ultrasonic in the sink. Only I set the cycle for 10 minutes and didn’t have to wash it with my hands, I just rinsed it off just in case. And yes, soda and (oh my God!) screening sand (my mother cleans it this way) scratch the pots and spoil the appearance.
I boiled a stainless steel pan in soda ash with stationery, there were some stains left that I couldn’t remove. How to restore shine?
If anyone has had such a case, tell me what to do? The dishes are Tseptor, it’s a pity. Help with advice
I washed everything with activated carbon. Unlike baking soda, it doesn't scratch anything.
