New Year's challenge: how to quickly remove confetti from the carpet and floor?

A firecracker allows you to create a stunning holiday and carnival atmosphere for relatively little money. The only person to whom it will bring dubious joy is the mistress of the house, on whose shoulders the responsibility for cleaning up the confetti will fall. Removing hundreds and thousands of rainbow flakes from your carpet and floors is not easy. Knowing this, we have prepared 3 step-by-step instructions, following which you can clean the room after the holiday as quickly as possible.

Cleaning up confetti with a vacuum cleaner

Using a vacuum cleaner

The miracle machine will help you remove confetti from the floor quickly and without unnecessary nerves. Choose a large diameter nozzle that can easily reach hard-to-reach places. Collect confetti in sequence:

  1. First, vacuum the sofa, chairs and any upper space where pieces of paper have fallen.
  2. Next in line is the carpet (if there is one). Peel it, roll it up and put it aside.
  3. Vacuum the room, moving from the far corner to the exit.
  4. If the confetti scatters greatly to the sides when fired, it makes sense to move the furniture aside and use a vacuum cleaner there as well.

Confetti in the vacuum cleaner tank

The faster you collect the confetti, the less time you will spend on cleaning in the end. Small pieces of paper are very easily carried around the house, from a draft they rise into the air and end up in the most unimaginable corners. Then multi-colored circles are suddenly found in a glass, on clothes, in the folds of a sofa, and even inside shoes.

Cleaning up confetti with a broom

Using a broom

It is much easier to remove confetti with a vacuum cleaner than with a broom. But not everyone has such technology. To speed up the process, use the following approach:

  1. Sweep pieces of paper from the closet, sofa, and other furniture. All flakes must be on the floor, otherwise during the cleaning process they will fly off the surfaces, and you will have to do all the work again.
  2. Fill a spray bottle with water and spray on the confetti to keep it from flying around.
  3. Sweep the floor (the total volume of debris will be significantly reduced).
  4. To clean the carpet, it is better to use method No. 3.

Cleaning up confetti with a sticky roller

Using tape or a sticky roller

You can use a clothes roller to remove confetti from carpeting. Pieces of paper and foil stick to it perfectly, leaving the floor clean. But if there is a lot of work, it is much more profitable to use tape for these purposes.

Make a useful device:

  1. Unwind the tape 10 cm.
  2. Glue it to the edge of the broom.
  3. Don't cut anything!
  4. Then turn the skein in the opposite direction so that the sticky layer is on the outside.
  5. Wrap duct tape around the entire perimeter of the broom, leaving only the handle.
  6. Secure the end of the tape and cut the roll.

It is best to make a device for collecting confetti so that it does not fall or stick to anything. They clean up very quickly and easily. You need to walk around the perimeter of the room and furniture with patting movements. All small debris will stick to the adhesive tape, after which it can be removed and thrown away.

Child with gifts and confetti

To make cleaning faster

Everyone rejoices at the firecracker and confetti - both children and adults. Except for those people who have to clean up the consequences of the holiday. But don’t be too quick to be horrified.

Use the following tips:

  • Involve family members in cleaning. Everyone celebrated, and we should clean up together - a great slogan. Try to persuade your husband and children to help you in this difficult matter. You can clean everything together or one at a time.
  • Ask your friends for help. As they say, a problem shared with a friend becomes halved. If there is a lot of confetti, perhaps you should ask your friends for help. Promise to give them some delicious tea after everything.
  • Turn on the music. Playful, rhythmic music will lift your spirits. The cleaning will go, if not faster, then at least on a positive note.
  • Divide the rooms into zones. Immediately after the holiday, clean the central part of the room. Then take yourself a short break. Drink tea with a cake or distract yourself with another pleasant activity. Having calmed down, collect confetti from the carpet, vacuum behind the sofa - and so consistently clean all areas. Better yet, distribute the zones among the assistants you can find.

Glitter confetti

Many cleaning companies offer services such as “post-holiday cleaning” and “confetti cleaning.” If you don’t feel strong enough to clean up on your own, you can call in specialists. They will clean your entire home until it shines. True, you will have to spend a little money on this - pay 3,000–5,000 rubles.

Cleaning up confetti from a firecracker after a party is not a pleasant task. But if you take into account all the tips and life hacks described above, you will cope with it in less than half an hour. The main thing is not to let the colorful circles spread throughout the house. Of course, the most effective remedy against them is a vacuum cleaner, a regular one, or even better, a robotic one. In the absence of equipment, the fastest way to remove confetti is with a broom (from the floor) and tape (from the carpet).
