How to refill the printer and how to wash the paint off your hands if it’s not very neat?
Refilling a printer at home has become a common procedure, not to mention those cases when it is part of your job duties. It is very unpleasant when, at the end of the process, you are afraid not only to walk out the door, but even to glance at your hands. Where can you go with scary black hands or even colorful bright spots? What diseases will others think about? We urgently need to correct the situation.
Prevention is the key to healthy and clean skin
When printer ink gets on your skin, it's not just dirt, it's also an active chemical. The first problem is to remember this in time and carefully protect your face, especially your eyes, from the touch of your hands.
Then the problems multiply. The paint is designed to soak into the paper. Naturally, the pores of the skin are perceived as an excellent surface for carrying out the mission, and it is very difficult to remove paint from your hands without active agents.
However, everything is not so bad. Water-based ink can be washed off with plain water (although not always and not completely), but inkjet printers use oil bases that cannot be washed off without the use of aggressive chemicals.
What to do to avoid such a difficult situation? Elementary. You just need to use thin rubber gloves, which will help you work comfortably and still have absolutely clean hands.
Wash off water-based ink
Owners of HP or Cannon printers, as well as laser devices with water-based toners are in luck. If you didn’t have gloves at hand, they still have a chance - if there is running water nearby, the paint can be washed off. You must act very quickly before the substance begins to dry out. Can only be washed when fresh.
You can wash using regular soap; more active products are not needed. However, there is one caveat: under no circumstances should you use warm water. The fact is that manufacturers of some brands provide for fixing the toner to paper by exposure to high temperature. If you wash your hands with hot water, instead of washing off the paint, you will only succeed in fixing it more firmly to the skin. If you made such a mistake, you will then have to follow the example of working with inkjet ink.
Clean up inkjet ink
How are inkjet printers different? Durability of paint on paper. Unfortunately, the same applies to the skin on your hands. The creators of the paint made sure that it did not remain on the surface, but was absorbed inward from the top layer. Once on human skin, the chemical does not notice the difference. It quickly penetrates through surface tissues and impregnates the upper layers. As a result, it is almost impossible to wash off the ink: only the surface of the skin is washed, and the refill continues to show through.
When will the paint wash off? To do this, several layers of skin cells need to come off, in other words, after a few days. You can speed up the mono process by washing your hands frequently with soap.
It seems pretty clear that you should use gloves when charging your printer. But no, some craftsmen have instead adapted to using products that are completely unsuitable for washing hands.Among them, the leading products are cleaning products for toilets and tiles. They suggest pouring the same “Domestos” on the stains, rubbing with a sponge, then rinsing with soap and lubricating the skin with baby oil or cream.
Indeed, the product helps. But at what cost? In fact, it eats away the top layer of skin. Only people with very healthy skin can use such a barbaric method and as a one-time option, as a last resort. Allergies, a number of skin diseases and other very unpleasant things can quickly develop.
In addition, other methods are offered online.
- Wipe the stain that appeared after charging the printer with bleach. You can use the option for swimming pools or in the form of bleach. Can only be used in the presence of plenty of water and be very careful to avoid contact with eyes. This can be fatal for your eyesight.
- You can apply bleach that contains sodium hypochlorite. The actions are similar to the option with bleach.
- Solvent for oil paint and pumice, the actions of which must be alternated.
- Use Vanish oxi action, scrub thoroughly with a brush and wash off with soap.
- Alternate pumice and hydrogen peroxide.
- Do a big hand wash. During friction using powder, layers of skin are quickly erased, washed away, and even useful things can be done.
After all of the above, it is imperative to use a nourishing hand cream. You can use it for children from skin damage - after all, that’s exactly what you’re doing.
Advice
It is absolutely pointless to wash inkjet ink and refills for Epson printers with gasoline, kerosene, alcohol and its solutions, and acetone.
All these products do not always give a 100% result, but they do make ink stains less noticeable and paler. However, is it worth so much torment for yourself and your skin if you don’t take the basic measure of wearing thin rubber gloves on your hands?
And the Rizaklin cleansing paste helped me, everything was wiped off quickly
Silit Bang. I quickly washed my hands with foam once and everything came off. It dries out the skin a lot, but it's nothing compared to black fingers =)
I washed my hands and immediately after washing I found in my kitchen a BIO anti-grease product with the smell of grapefruit. Right before my eyes, the paint ran. Before that, I cleaned it with everything that was at hand, the color did not wipe off, it only became blue.
