I’m telling you how I put my keychain in order, and I advise you to just mark each one.

If there are too many keys and some of them are the same, then you will have to spend time selecting them every time you want to get into a certain room. But you can use an extraordinary approach to put things in order in a bunch of keys and quickly find the right one among them - apply original markings.

Materials for decoration

You should color the keys only after clear associations have been formed. For example, if the door to an apartment is yellow, then it should be painted yellow. Nail polishes are best for this. The varnish adheres well to metal and is not damaged for a long time.

You can mark keys in different ways:

paint completely;
apply varnish;
draw a dot, letter or pattern.

It is not worth painting the entire key, as friction will cause the varnish to peel off. Yes, and outwardly it will look too bright.

The ideal option is to sign in letters. This won’t take much time, will help you quickly navigate the bunch and won’t look too colorful.

There are also certain requirements for the color of the varnish: calm colors look harmonious. For example, green, blue or black.

The main color can be diluted by adding individual dots. They can be placed in different places. For example, if there are several keys to the office: to the front door, for internal use and to the storage room. Then you can make black the dominant color for everyone, and put a red dot at the entrance.

There are fluorescent paints that glow in the dark. This is convenient when you have to look for the key at night. Glitter colors like gold or silver are also suitable for this. They can be used for certain keys that are often used in the dark.

Original ideas

Creative people can take a fun approach by putting patterns on the rod. A colorful pattern will become a distinctive feature of specific keys.

You can draw simple images - flowers, hearts, circles and similar shapes. It will be more difficult to apply patterns - woven stripes or small compositions.

Some keys can be decorated with stickers or rhinestones. To do this, you will need a set of special decorations, the lower surface of which is treated with glue.

If there are more than 10 keys, you can draw a table. This will help you quickly remember which one is colored with which color. This makes it easy to distribute the shades.

Operating procedure

Having chosen the main color, we get to work:

Using a nail polish brush, apply the letter corresponding to the name of the room that opens with a certain key. If desired, we put a dot or draw a pattern.
You must first cover your work area with newspaper to avoid contamination.
If you need to correct the design or remove it, use nail polish remover. The manufacturing material allows the procedure to be repeated indefinitely.
You need to work with the brush smoothly, distributing the product in one direction. It should not fall into the grooves - only the upper area of the key should be painted.
We paint both sides one by one, waiting for the paint on one of them to dry.If you varnish both sides at once, placing the key vertically, smudges cannot be avoided.
One layer may not be enough. In this case, dry the varnish and apply layers again until the color becomes saturated. A beautiful shine can be created by applying a clear glitter varnish on top.

After finishing the work, you need to wait until the varnish dries. This will take about an hour. If the composition does not dry well, you will have to do the work again.

You can replace nail polish with paper glued with tape. First, you need to write the name of the room on the sheet.
Do not apply varnish or glue stickers to the grooves or bits to avoid damaging the lock.
