The watermelon season is in full swing, and ripe, juicy pieces are just asking to be put into your mouth. In our family, we have a special relationship with berries. In the summer we celebrate children's birthdays and wedding anniversaries. Every year I figure out how to beautifully cut watermelon for the holiday table. What I didn’t have: ice cream on a stick, pizza, and a three-tier cake.

I suggest starting with the simplest way to cut a watermelon. It’s not difficult to master; even a teenager can handle it. I like it because:

As I already said, the cutting is simple. All you need is a sharp knife, a tray and a ripe, juicy berry. Let's get started:

I think that in the summer, creamy, fatty cakes are unnecessary. In extreme heat, you want something refreshing. My children and husband fully support me. The year before last we bought an ice cream cake for the holiday table, and last year I made the cake myself from watermelon and other fruits.

Surprisingly, making watermelon cake was easy. We chose a medium watermelon for 10 kg. Naturally, we took the seedless variety. I cut it like this:

  1. I cut the peel off the side so that it would stand stable on the table and not roll around.
  2. I removed the “hats” on the sides.
  3. I divided the watermelon into 3 layers.
  4. Using a springform baking dish, I separated the pulp from the crust (squeezed out the core). The “cakes” turned out smooth and beautiful. The first is larger in diameter, the second and third are smaller.
  5. I placed the “cakes” one on top of the other. I decorated each tier with blackberries, banana slices, and grapes. It turned out very bright and tasty!

I'm going to do it again this year. But this time I will make a layer cake. I’ll cut the watermelon into thin layers, spread them with soft cheese and top them with peaches and strawberries.

Method number 3: “Watermelon pizza”

This cutting method was a hit with teenagers. What can I say, I myself happily ate one “pizzeria”. The watermelon is cut as follows:

  1. You need to cut the berry in half lengthwise.
  2. Then cut half into 4 more longitudinal parts.
  3. Now cut the slices crosswise. It is desirable that their thickness be the same - 2-3 cm.
  4. Place the slices in a circle on a flat plate (8 pieces).
  5. The next stage is creative. You need to decorate the “pizza” with mugs and slices of kiwi, banana, peach, lychee, and mint leaves.You can finely chop peeled apples (reminiscent of cheese), use coconut flakes, currants, raspberries and other berries for decoration.

Attention! For watermelon “pizza,” you need to choose a seedless variety or you will have to pick out the seeds from each slice.

Method number 4: “Watermelon ice cream”

A cold, almost icy watermelon on an ice cream stick can replace popsicles. Such a treat looks very unusual on a holiday table, but is eaten in a matter of minutes.

For preparation you will need:

  • packaging of ice cream sticks (can be replaced with wooden skewers);
  • watermelon dish;
  • a long, well-sharpened knife.

Step-by-step master class:

  1. Cut the watermelon lengthwise into two parts.
  2. Place the half cut side down on a plate.
  3. Visually we divide it into 4 longitudinal parts.

I won’t say that the next cutting method is complicated, but it is very long. I advise you to choose a watermelon of at least medium size. To prepare watermelon balls you will need a round spoon.

Attention! You can make balls only from a very juicy, sugary watermelon.
